Hello,
As many of you know, I wrote "An Open Letter to Moderate Preterists" several years ago. Given the continued interest in my letter, I have written another letter as an update.
Because of His grace,

An Open Letter to Full Preterists
To those who have read my first open letter,
Several years ago, after the publication of R.C. Sproul's work, The Last Days According to Jesus, I wrote a letter due to what I found to be a problem with the moderate preterist view. Since then, several full preterist sites have posted my "An Open Letter to Moderate Preterists" to their web sites. It has continued to be read by many people, and I still receive e-mail from some of those who have written me in light of it. Because of this fact, I wanted to give you an update in my thinking on the issue.
While I still consider my basic argument as sound (connecting 1 Thessalonians 4:13ff with 2 Thessalonians 2:1ff), this has not led me to embrace full preterism. Quite the opposite; I now see many aspects of the preterist position as problematic. In a matter of fact, I am now fully persuaded that the full preterist position is heresy. I do not use this term lightly. Full preterism is a contemporary version of Hymenaenism, which has been condemned in God's Word by the Apostle Paul himself (2 Timothy 2:16-18, 1 Timothy 1:20).
There was a time when I seriously flirted with full preterism, but by God's grace I have been shown the severity of its error. I implore you to search the Scriptures and see this truth for yourself. I also highly recommend two books: The End of All Things by C. Jonathin Seraiah, and When Shall These Things Be? edited by Keith A. Mathison. I do not agree with all of their arguments or conclusions, but both works have solid exegesis and are compelling.
I ask that you consider the seriousness of this issue. Do not neglect the time God has given to repent before His return in judgment (2 Peter 3:9).
Because of His grace,
John Divito
