There's Something About Gary
caveats regarding Gary DeMar
Plain Text/Printer Friendly Version
I have a lot of links to resources authored by Gary DeMar. A lot of his material is excellent; however, Gary himself is a highly irresponsible teacher and leader, and I can no longer recommend him without qualification. Following are a list of resources that document my concerns. I highly recommend you review them before immersing yourself in Gary's work so that you are forearmed.

- Episode Eight: There's Something About Gary - Part One and Part Two ~ Brief Summary: This show is co-hosted with Roderick Edwards and deals with irresponsible laxity on the part of some orthodox preterists when it comes to the issue of hyperpreterism, specifically, very prominent and influential preterist Gary DeMar of American Vision.

Numerous readers and listeners have written me as well detailing similar issues with Gary and similar experiences in trying to communicate with him. He is curt, surly and entirely beyond any reason on this issue. It would be one thing if he would openly defend his position on why hyperpreterists should be welcomed into the historic Church, but he does not. He merely blows off the question rudely and with the depth of a ant wading pool.
Are you concerned about this? Contact Gary at American Vision and urge him to disassociate himself from hyperpreterists and to defend the historical doctrine of the resurrection. Be prepared for a rude response.
